4-Week Introductory Wheel Throwing Workshop

Ready to build confidence on the pottery wheel?

Join experienced potter Rachael Felt for a four-week introductory wheel throwing workshop designed for beginners and those wanting to strengthen their foundations. This course focuses on core techniques, practical skills, and creating functional pieces you’ll be proud to use at home.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll learn essential wheel-throwing skills, including centring, pulling walls, shaping forms, and trimming. As you practise, you’ll create simple, functional pieces such as mugs, bud vases, and bowls.

By the end of the course, each participant will select and keep three finished pieces to take home.*

About the tutor: Rachael Felt
Rachael Felt is a Rotorua-based ceramic artist and active member of the Rotorua Potters Group. With a strong focus on functional pottery and foundational skills, she enjoys helping beginners build confidence on the wheel in a supportive, encouraging studio environment.
